Left Behind Child

To those who have been raised by others and to those who have been unable to provide for their own:

Left Behind Child

Left behind child I see you in the rear-view mirror
I feel your tears as they fall
but I know you're better off where you are
and I pray

You can't tell my heart is breaking over you.
You don't see the tears that I cry too.
Take your Grandma's hand and close the door;
You can't need me anymore

Left behind child I see you in the rear-view mirror.
I feel your tears as they fall
but I know you're better off where you are
and I pray

Someday soon, I'll come back and take you home.
Until then you must be Grandma's girl.
Don't forge those words of love I left.
As I kissed your finger tips.

Left behind child I see you in the rear-view mirror.
I feel your tears as they fall
but I know you're better off where you are
I pray.

This Passage Of Time

God your loves warms me
like sunbeams each morning,
As I wake and open my eyes.
Then clouds surround me
and shadow the window;
these troubles which plague my mind.

So take all the burdens I carry;
The worries which swallow up life.
Help me to live in the morning .
Refreshed by this passage of time.

S2: I have...never loved

I have sailed on weary seas
up ocean crests in the breeze
I have thrown my anchor down
in the midst of fears and drowned
I have hiked up rocky peaks
over canyons I've flown free
I have done so many things
but never loved

Oh heart of mine afraid to feel
Oh life that longs not to be stilled
Oh soul who hides behind a wall
and ever builds.

Maybe one day you will rest
I long for this, I long for this.
But peace is far away right now.

Hands of mine have touched fine gold
My eyes have seen much, still untold
Life has brought me the world
but never love.
Growing up I used to wish
I'd dream about my love's first kiss
Life has been so good to me
but I've never loved.

Oh heart of mine afraid to feel
Oh life that longs not to be stilled
Oh soul who hides behind a wall
and ever builds.

Maybe one day you will rest
I long for this, I long for this.
But peace is far away right now.

S1: Pink Bellied Clouds

Pink bellied clouds
sing a duet to moonshine
as he pulls the sunbeams down.
oo-oo
Birds all fall silent
like mourners who find rest
and night begins to settle down.

Dearest day, you've left us cold
once warmed by you, now all alone.
In this night we shiver in the cold.

Twinkling like diamonds
the stars begin shining
trading our sorrows for gold.
oo-oo
Satellites spinning
makes arcs on the ceiling
in patterns which tales have known.

Dearest day you've left us cold
our eyes went black as you grew old.
But your death gave the night chance to unfold.
